Coleman Premium QuickBed Review

Visiting the Family? Take Your Own Bed!

The title to this review might sound like you’re about to insult your family by turning up with your own bed when you go to visit them. And, this might be true to a certain extent. The only reason I say this is because I had a couple come into my store recently and they were having a rather heated discussion.

From what I could gather the lady of the couple was about to embark upon a trip to her in-laws, and was complaining the guest bed was too lumpy and just darn right uncomfortable. The man in the relationship sniped back that she always had something to complain about when visiting his parents, but this time he was glad that it was at least the bed and not his mother!

Of course, as I approached them to ask if they needed any help I did my best to hide the fact I had overheard this little “debate”, but somehow I think they knew since I immediately asked them if they were interested in looking at the air mattresses we had to offer (not one of my most tactical moments in life).

The Coleman Premium QuickBed with Built-In Pump

Anyway, they both told me they would be more than happy to be shown what models we have. I assumed the couple would need an air bed that would accommodate both of them, and since comfort appeared to be the issue I directed them towards the Coleman Premium QuickBed with Built-In Pump, which is a queen size mattress.

This is one of our best selling air beds and when looking at the display model, the lady immediately remarked she liked the grey color (roll of the eyes from her husband). Deciding to ignore this, I went on to tell them about some of the benefits they can expect from this bed.

It’s Comfortable!

It has “high” in the model description for a reason. When fully inflated, this bed measure 18 inches tall which is the same as a standard mattress, and it will easily accommodate two people because it’s 60 inches wide and 78 inches long. It also has three layers so you really feel like you’re lying on a normal mattress.

Coleman has added a soft suede top which pretty much eliminates the need for a pillow top, and it will stop your bedding from sliding around (a complaint I come across often with a lot of other air beds).

It’s Easy to Inflate and Deflate

There is no need to take a hand pump with you when you travel with this bed because the pump is in-built and will inflate in about 4-6 minutes without the need for any “leg action” from you. Once inflated you will find the valve is airtight and has a double lock system which helps to stop leaks. One thing worth noting here however is there may be some stretching on the first use. For this reason, be prepared to add a bit more air when you first use it.

Deflating is just as quick as inflating and this air mattress is easy to transport because it comes with its own storage bag complete with zipper.

Finally

This air mattress will not break the bank, and it offers the perfect solution if you’re visiting family and they don’t have enough room for everyone. In fact, if you’re interested in finding out more about the price and maybe need a bit more convincing, take a look at Amazon. You’ll find some great prices and lots of 5 star reviews.

As for the couple I was talking to? They did buy one of these, but I didn’t dare think about how they were going to explain bringing their own bed when they arrived at the man’s parents.
